Due to road conditions, Leeton R-X School District and the Leeton Early Childhood Center will be closed, tomorrow, Tuesday, December 2nd.

Update: Boys and Girls Club will not be in session today (12/1/25) due to road conditions. Monday club will release at it's normal 2:00 pm time.
JH Boys/ Girls at Crest Ridge and Varsity Girls at Warsaw Tournament basketball games for tonight (12/1/25) have been postponed due to weather conditions.
Due to inclement weather and worsening road conditions, Leeton R-X will not be attending WACC today, 12-1-25. Monday Club will be in until 2:00 pm and Boy's and Girl's Club will follow as scheduled. Early Childhood Center will be normal hours, as well. We will release me information about sports tonight as it becomes available.

1st grade got to make pumpkin pie before Thanksgiving break! Some were big fans, and some… well, they’re still deciding.

First grade has been busy learning how to work together, build social skills, and understand the rules and laws that help us in our community.

Top 10 Gratitude List: Leeton R-X School District
As we reflect on the progress, partnerships, and achievements of the past year, we are reminded of how fortunate we are to be part of such a dedicated and supportive school community. The following list highlights 10 things we are especially grateful for at Leeton R-X School District, each representing the people, programs, and values that make it a great day to be a Bulldog.
1. Record-Breaking APR Scores: We are grateful for achieving an 81.7% APR, the highest in Johnson County and one of the strongest in district history. This accomplishment reflects the collective work of our students, staff, and leadership.
2. Exceptional Teachers and Staff: Our teachers, paraprofessionals, support staff, coaches, and administrators display tremendous dedication every day. We are thankful for their commitment to academic excellence, student growth, and building positive relationships.
3. Transformational Grant Awards: We celebrate an outstanding year of competitive grant success, including: Stronger Connections Grant – $372,000 (Year 2), DAF STEM Grant – $20,000, Northrop Grumman Drone Grant – $15,000, MOQPK Early Childhood Funding – $90,000. These funds strengthen instruction, enhance safety, expand STEM learning, and increase student supports.
4. A Supportive and Proud Community: Our families, alumni, businesses, and community partners continue to show pride in and support for our schools. Their involvement helps create a welcoming, connected, and student-centered environment.
5. Student Achievement and Hard Work: We are thankful for students who work hard, demonstrate character, and participate fully in academics, activities, and athletics. Their energy and Bulldog spirit drive everything we do.
6. Expanding Student Opportunities: This year we celebrate the growth of exciting programs, including: Expansion of STEM curriculum and drone programming and strengthened early childhood options through MOQPK. These opportunities broaden students’ experiences and open new pathways for their futures.
7. Strong Leadership and Vision: We appreciate the steady guidance of our Board of Education and district leadership. Through CSIP redevelopment, facilities planning, and financial stewardship, they continue to shape a strong and forward-thinking district.
8. Safe & Welcoming Schools: We are grateful for continued improvements in school safety and campus security, including: Enhanced emergency planning and response readiness, School Resource Officer (SRO) partnerships with the City of Leeton and the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department. These efforts reinforce our commitment to maintaining safe, supportive learning environments for all students.
9. Financial Stability: We are thankful for a strong 40% reserve balance and responsible fiscal management that safeguard programs, protect staff, and allow for thoughtful long-term planning.
10. The Leeton R-X Spirit of Community and Resilience: Most of all, we are thankful for the unwavering belief that every student matters and every student can succeed. The resilience, unity, and heart of the Leeton R-X community continue to make our district a place where great things happen every day.
